STORM LAKE — The Storm Lake Quadrangular boy’s golf meet was held on Friday at Lake Creek Country Club.
Despite the challenges the course offers, several scores reflected otherwise. The top two place finishers both finished with scores under par. Alta-Aurelia senior Jack Bloom finished a two under par 34 to win medalist. OABCIG senior Axton Miller finished one under par 35 to take runner-up medalist in the meet.
It was a ‘nailbiter’ of a meet with the top three team finishers separated by just one stroke. Alta-Aurelia prevailed with a team score of 158. OABCIG and Ridge View each finished with 159 team scores, and Storm Lake finished fourth with a 163 stroke total.
The best round of the meet for Ridge View were a pair of identical rounds of 38 shot by junior Gavin Vohs and sophomore Drew Burk. The Raptors two remaining scores toward the team total were senior Gabe Chance (41) and sophomore Kellen Clausen (42).
The Ridge View team is suppose to be back in action today in the Western Valley Conference Tournament in LeMars, but that could be in jeopardy due to a strong storm anticipated in the area.
